Nice Breakdown AJ – I think I’d rather see Alt stay up with the AVS than Nemeth, Nemeth just makes me too nervous.

Why does Nemeth make you nervous? The Avs went 1-5 or 2-4 or something those games he was out injured last year. And he was a huge part of the PK unit that got up to 3rd best in the league with something like 40+ kills in a row. Nemeth’s offensive ability doesn’t make me excited, but reliability on the back end is what he has going for him.

He’s a great penalty killer! Nobody in the league can ice the puck better than Nemeth!

It seems the Avs have come a long way since the days of Marc Andre Cliche. These are good problems to have. Although I have been on the O’Conner train, I tend to agree that he has lost some of that poise and aggressiveness that he had earlier in camp. I didn’t like that pitch and catch he was doing with Kamenev at the end of the Dallas game with the goalie pulled, it seemed he didn’t want the puck. I think he is a nice prospect with good hockey IQ and great functional skating but some time in the American League to build his confidence should be prescribed. You didn’t mention whether Kamenev would have to be waiver exposed? If that is the case, I can’t see how they would risk him at this point. He may be a bit low energy, but I’ll take that shot over a Toninato or a Dries all day.

They’re all waiver exempt

Where will Kaut start? I guess the only danger with Alt is that Philly might want him back and $ isn’t as big a deal as it would be with Ottawa? Would it be better for Kamanev to be a big fist in a small pond or stay in the NHL?
